Promyshlenny Vestnik Karelii LLC

In 1999, Sergei Pokorny, the Director of ATM Company initiated and implemented into reality a magazine called “Promyshlenny Vestnik Karelii”. The cooperation of his Company with hi-tech companies led to comprehension that Karelia needs an information resource, which would be targeted at industry. The four years of the manazine’s operations legged up the validity of the idea and now Bulletin of Karelian Industry is the only and highly esteemed special edition in the Republic.

The slogan of Bulletin of Karelian Industry is “Everything about Industry, Everything for Industry”. The magazine publishes information about modern technology, equipment, experiences of implementation, problems and vision of Karelian enterprises. The authors of Bulletin of Karelian Industry are leading enterprises and companies from Karelia, St-Petersburg and Moscow representing industry, serving industry and oriented towards industry. Bulletin of Karelian Industry is the most reliable way of disseminating new technology in the region.
Bulletin of Karelian Industry is included in the governmental programme for support of innovative businesses in the Republic of Karelia.
The history of the development of Bulletin of Karelian Industry displays that the magazine is the most fast-growing edition across the Republic: every year the cover changes for the better and today the magazine offers an opportunity rare among Karelian editions to present material on glossy paper in full colours. The circulation increases, the coverage expands, the number of subscribers grows. Now, Bulletin of Karelian Industry has reached the national level from not just the view of the content (through publishing material of Russian manufacturers) but also factually - through participation in nationwide exhibitions.
Starting from the last year, the editorship of Bulletin of Karelian Industry includes distinguished experts and managers of Karelia, for instance V.V. Dubov, Director of Karelian Energy Supervision Committee, V.P. Vasenin, Deputy Director on energy issues of Kondopoga LLC, O.V. Fortunsky, engineering manager of Kareltransgas Inc., D.V. Astrakhantsev, Deputy Director of Petrozavodsk Municipal Water Supply and Sewage Systems and others.
The magazine is disseminated through its own address base and comes to the desk of the people whom this information is addressed. The Bulletin of Karelian Industry is read on really working enterprises and companies by managers and specialists, i.e. people who prepare and made decisions: chief engineers, energy engineers, managers of computer management systems and communications departments, chiefs of security services, chief accountants, administrative managers. The Bulletin of Karelian Industry is regularly received by officials from all powers of Karelia: Petrozavodsk Municipal Council, Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Karelia, Petrozavodsk Administration, Karelian Government.
The Bulletin of Karelian Industry, as a representative of the Karelian mass media, participates in regional and national exhibitions, seminars, forums, regularly carries out sociological surveys among experts and managers of enterprises to get feedback, and acts as an organiser of one highly authorised Karelian exhibitions. In 2003, the Bulletin of Karelian Industry together with the Karelian Regional Energy Supervision Committee and Regional Energy Commission will hold the 4th International Exhibition and Seminar “Energy of Karelia – 2003”, which has already become a traditional event.
Valery Dubov, Director of the Karelian Regional Energy Supervision Committee, said: «The Energy of Karelia Exhibition has become a traditional event and this is very important. Only such displays can change the minds of people, particularly people at power. Power saving is a lever that will help partly solve the problems of the economy. And the Karelian Regional Energy Supervision Committee will do its best to run such exhibitions every year...”.
To achieve the largest effect from the exhibition, a contest for the best technical solutions in power efficiency and power saving is held within the exhibition. It should be stressed that last year a project of the Karelia’s largest power consumer – Nadvoitsy Aluminum Plant – was moved to the nomination “Effective Management of Power and Fuel Resources”. This means that advanced power effective thinking starts to take root in the industry sector of the region. By and large, the results of the previous Energy of Karelia Exhibitions displays positive dynamics in terms of power saving and spread of modern technology across Karelia.

Yet, the experiences gained by the neignbouring countries could be of much use for Karelia to develop this sector. Therefore, we invite all concerned enterprises to take part in the International Exhibition “Energy of Karelia-2003” which will run in Petrozavodsk, December 16-18.
In conclusion, I would like to outline a new project of the Bulletin of Karelian Industry. In Petrozavodsk, on September 26-28, 2003, the 1st International Fair “Hunting and Fishing” aimed at the supporting the status of Karelia as a recreation and tourist region, will run. A great variety of interesting events for the locals and guests of the Republic are planned within the Fair.

So, welcome to Karelia! Tervetuloa Karjalan!
