Alexandr Kimovitch Zaitsev has been the Director General of ALVI Inc. since the establishment of the Company. Alexandr Zaitsev was born in 1965, in Priazha District of the Republic of Karelia. In 1999, for an important contribution into the socio-economic development of Priazha District and sponsorship he was awarded the honorary title “Karelia Laureate of the Year” by the Chairperson of the Karelian Government Sergei Katanandov.;)
Sergei Kimovitch Zaitsev has been a consultant on manufacturing for ALVI Inc. since the establishment of the Company. Sergei Zaitsev was born in 1962, in Priazha District of the Republic of Karelia. In 2000, for a large input into the development of industry and creating new jobs he was awarded the honorary title “Karelia Laureate of the Year” by the Chairperson of the Karelian Government Sergei Katanandov, and in 2002, he became Laureate of the Year for his contribution into the development of sports in Karelia. Currently, Sergei Zaitsev is a part-time adviser of the Governor of the Republic of Karelia.Historical backgroundA lot of things have been said about the importance of the timber industry for the economics of Karelia – everyone knows that this industry is one of the five key industries in our Republic. Today, we will talk about a forest harvesting company that has been operating at the timber market for as much as 10 years.ALVI Inc. (Priazha settlement) commenced its operations in 1992. To say this is a medium business that develops successfully means to say practically nothing. ;)
Within short term called “a crisis period” in the Russian economy, ALVI Inc. has grown into a powerful and wide-spread organisation, which has its own production basis of 8,0 ha, manufacturing premises, repair and engineering workshops, Finnish forest harvest machines (forwarder, harvester), modern motor vehicles. The management of ALVI Inc. thinks that the well-being and every-day life of the workers is one of the components of the success. Therefore, search for improvements and facilitation of the manufacturing process is one of the permanent concerns. For the workers of ALVI Inc. a canteen was built everyone can get a free lunch. A pig-breeding farm was purchased to better provide the workers with food. ALVI Inc. supplies the Priazha budgetary sector with fuel for wintertime, increases the number of jobs, delivers aid to the local schools, hospital, the elderly and veterans. In Priazha, a pollution-free boiler-house was constructed, which uses the production wastes of ALVI Inc. The management of ALVI Inc. keeps an eye on Priazha children, their education; ALVI Inc. sponsors all competitions held by a local children’s sports school (both at home and abroad). ALVI Inc. constructed a church in Priazha settlement and a chapel in Kindasovo village. The Company keeps partnership ties with Finland, St-Petersburg. ALVI Inc. is an active member of the Commerce and Industry Chamber of the Republic of Karelia. The founders of ALVI Inc. are two brothers – Alexandr Zaitsev and Sergei Zaitsev To move forward!It often happens that a manager, having successfully launched manufacturing of one product, holds on this product and does not think about its modifications, alterations, etc. Sooner or later, such a business is absorbed by another business of the same profile but with a wider range of services.ALVI Inc. is in a different situation. The Zaitsev brothers think no further work is possible without the expansion of the operations. As for forest harvesting, ALVI Inc. has now implemented a new activity. Due to sister-city links betwee Priazha settlement and Juanoski town, the Company has purchased a machine for manufacturing profiled timber. The machine has been started up and operates for about two years. This machine makes it possible to provide for complete production of a house’s framework. “Pine Forest” – from an idea to reality;)
For many years, tourism development has been considered in Karelia as one of the priorities. The Concept of the Socio-Economic Development of Karelia recognizes the availability of historical and cultural resources for development of tourism and hotel business.Alexandr Zaitsev and Sergei Zaitsev acted as founders of the project aimed at the establishment of the hotel and health complex “Pine Forest” estimated for 110 persons at a time. The construction works are being carried out by ALVI Inc. The complex is planned to be built in 2002 through 2004 on the shore of Priazha Lake (40 km of Petrozavodsk, close to St-Petersburg – Murmansk highway). And now imagine that you drive off from the busy highway and get into a fairy-tale forest. Here, you will find no hustle or bustle, but placidity and silence. ;)
The road you drive on is ranked by lofty trees and their crowns disappear somewhere in the sky; coolness and repose, the grass rustles quietly, and sweet and aromatic air that you never get tired of breathing. And then a lake flashes. In a song about Karelia, there is a line: “And you cannot understand if the shy has fallen into the lake, or the lake sails in the sky”. This is about Priazha Lake, its blue and exciting expanses. Sandy beaches, warm and gentle water, and the sun!There are already fifteen houses on the shore. In the long run, the complex will embrace thirty cottages, an administrative building, a business centre, a restaurant, saunas, fountains, a tennis court, a parking space, a stadium, paths for walking and cycling trips, conditions for fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, boating and skiing. Speaking generally, there will be everything that a fastidious tourist will want. A special emphasis will be placed on safety and comfort of recreation. All works are carried out by ALVI Inc. ALVI Inc. was awarded the Europe’s Golden Prize for QualityIn 2001, one of the most prestigious prizes awarded internationally - Europe’s International Prize “For Quality” – celebrated its 15th anniversary. In November 1987, in Paris, in Intercontinental Hotel, the first awarding ceremony took place. This ceremony is arranged by the Madrid Publishing House “Office” together with the European Club of Commerce Leaders, which encompasses 15,000 businessmen from 112 countries of four continents. The Europe’s Prize was instituted for establishing economic ties among European businessmen who operate under a common slogan – quality. In 2001, over 1,000 companies and organisations were listed in the Honorary Book of Quality. And in jubilee 2001, ALVI Inc. was awarded this remarkable prize.ALVI Inc., a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Karelia, got an invitation to Paris to attend the jubilee awarding ceremony from the President of the Preparatory Committee Arsenio Pardo Rodrigez at the end of July, 2001. In his invitation, Mr. Rodrigez stated that the Preparatory Committee of the Europe’s Prize had recognized our Company worth of awarding thanks to the stable work over several years with favorable balance both at the domestic market and internationally. At the outset of the awarding ceremony, the General Secretary introduced the companies and organisations to be awarded by the Europe’s Golden Prize in the jubilee year, and then gave the floor to the representatives of these companies and organisations. In his presentation, Sergei Zaitsev presented the country, Company, told about the main achievements of ALVI Inc. in the recent years, the range of products and services, thanked the organizers for the high appreciation of the Company’s operations. The full name of the prize “Europe’s Golden Prize “For Quality” – Prize of the New Millennium”. The trip to Paris became an award to all the workers of ALVI Inc. who worker intensively in the preceding years, gave a new stimulus for further development, opened the nearest areas of the operations of the leading European companies. “Gurkoila” is one more step forward;)
This project presumes establishment of a tourist complex in a game hunting area “Gurkoila” covering 8,900 ha in the southeastern part of Priazha District. The planned term for the use of fauna is 49 years. A farm will be set up in the game hunting area, close to Lake Perozero. On the farm’s territory, 9 comfortable wooden cottages for all the year round accommodation (each cottage per 4 persons) will be constructed.The initiators of the project is Sosnovy Bor LLC founded by the Zaitsev brothers. The project is estimated to be completed in 2005. For running the farm the following premises will be built: a living house enough for a large family (5-6 adults or 2 families of 2-3 persons); kitchen building with a large dining room for 40 seats; auxiliary premises for storing farming tools and equipment; household premises for growing domestic animals estimated for at-a-time keeping of 2 cows, 10 pigs, 5 goats, 50 geese, 50 pheasants, 100 ducks, 10 turkeys, 2 wild boars. The game hunting area will be situated in the southeastern part of Priazha District, on the territory of Vedlozero and Kroshnozero forest districts. The game hunting company will operate all the year round. A forest ranger and a hunting specialist have already been taken on the staff. The game hunting company “Gurkoila” will offer tourists the services as follows: accommodation, hunting and fishing, meals, recreation. The main specific service will be organisation of non-professional hunting for elk, brown bear, periaquatic animals, upland and water fowl. The territory of the game hunting area hosts woodcocks (snipe, great snipe, woodcock, curlew); ducks (mallard, pintail, teal, golden eye, merganser); geese (white-fronted goose, bean goose, barnacle goose); grouse (capercailye, black grouse, hazel grouse, partridge); mammals (mole, Arctic hare, squirrel, muskrat, beaver, fox, ermine, polecat, American mink, marten, otter, badger, wolf, raccoon dog, brown bear, elk, wild boar). Guests will b offered the following services: hunting in dependence with the season time; fishing (lake trout, Lake Perozero or other lakes of the game hunting area all the year round); picnics outdoors; four saunas have been constructed, skiing trips, a boating station with 20 boats has been constructed on Lake Perozero. By and large, everything is provided to help you forget your everyday concerns, problems, have a rest for your body and spirit.
